Role: Field Service Engineer
Location: covering all of the Midlands, you'll be allocated to the Aldridge Service Centre
Hours: 45 hours per week | between 08:00 and 17:30 Monday to Friday (40 hours per week also available)
Are you a hands-on problem solver who thrives on variety and independence? We’re looking for a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join our Aftermarket team!
This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You’ll be out in the field, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining specialist vehicles at customer sites and company workshops—keeping the fleet running smoothly and our customers happy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair faults on chassis and mounted equipment to a high standard.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance with DVSA and DOT specifications.
- Use diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Work independently at customer premises and across various locations.
- Log all work using PDA software and maintain accurate service records.
- Deliver excellent customer service and represent the company professionally.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety and follow all site procedures.
- Attend training to stay up to date with the latest vehicle technologies.
Ideal Candidate:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance (or time-served).
- Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair, ideally in a field service or HGV role.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable with computer systems and workshop IT tools.
- Knowledge of vehicle technology systems, electronics, and hydraulics.
- Flexible and willing to travel across the UK, with occasional overtime and callouts.
- Customer-focused, professional, and safety-conscious.
