Senior Risk Manager
Location: IJsselstein
Reports to: CFO and Board of Directors Royal Terberg Group
Company: Terberg Group – 4th generation family business, €1.5 billion turnover, 40 companies, active in 15+ countries

The Opportunity
Are you an experienced risk professional ready to elevate risk management within a fast-growing, international family business? As Senior Risk Manager, you will partner with the Board of Directors, Divisional Management Boards, business units, and local teams to build and strengthen Terberg’s enterprise risk management (ERM) approach.
You will identify, assess, and monitor strategic, commercial, operational, and financial risks, while developing the frameworks and processes that support consistent risk oversight across the group. This role combines strategic thinking with hands‑on execution — you don’t just design the framework, you also help implement it.

Your Role
• Develop, refine, and implement an integrated enterprise risk management (ERM) framework for the group.
• Establish clear risk policies, methodologies, and governance structures aligned with international best practices.
• Coordinate and perform risk assessments across divisions and business units worldwide, ensuring consistent evaluation and prioritization of risks.
• Monitor key risks, controls, and mitigation actions, ensuring follow‑through and accountability.
• Advise senior leadership on strategic, commercial, operational, and financial risks, including emerging risks and scenario analysis.
• Serve as a sparring partner for directors, divisional management, and project teams — translating risk insights into practical recommendations and decision support.
• Support the development and monitoring of internal control systems across the group.
• Collaborate with internal audit and external parties on audits, control reviews, and regulatory/compliance topics.
• Prepare risk reports for the Board of Directors, including risk profiles, trends, mitigation plans, and recommendations.
• Provide input for annual strategy cycles, budgeting processes, and major investment cases.
• Assist divisions with the implementation of new or revised risk management processes.
• Build awareness and capability across the organization through training, tools, and best practices.

Your Profile
• Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in enterprise risk management, internal audit, internal control, or compliance — preferably with group‑level exposure.
• Experience in an international industrial, manufacturing, or capital‑goods environment.
• Familiarity with family business dynamics; able to operate in a culture emphasizing trust, entrepreneurship, and long-term relationships.
• Proven ability to advise senior leadership on risk, controls, and governance, and to translate frameworks into practical, actionable processes.
• Hands‑on mentality: visible, involved, pragmatic, and proactive in driving implementation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluency in English is essential; excellent command of Dutch is preferred.
• Academic background in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., RO, RA, CIA, CRMA, CERA) are a plus but not required.

We Offer
• Permanent contract with a competitive salary (ranging €90.000 – €130.000) and bonus scheme
• 25 vacation days per year
• Hybrid working possibilities (office in IJsselstein and remote)
• Excellent pension plan and collective insurance options
• Mobility budget
• Opportunities for personal development and training
• A dynamic, entrepreneurial, and supportive work environment
