Vacancy: Sustainability Project Manager
Location: IJsselstein (NL) | 40 hours per week | Hybrid working possible

Royal Terberg Group is looking for an experienced Sustainability Project Manager to translate our ESG vision into actionable projects and initiatives. Operating across 4 divisions and 38 subsidiaries worldwide, we need someone who can drive consistency, progress and engagement across our decentralized organization.
Your responsibilities
- Lead and deliver sustainability projects
You will manage projects on our Sustainability Roadmap — from our Net Zero plan to ESG policy implementation and circular initiatives. Strong project and change management skills will help you get things done across diverse business units.
- Drive CSRD/ESRS reporting process
You will play a key role in building and managing our group-wide sustainability reporting system, ensuring compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). You know how to structure processes, manage data and identify improvements.
- Align stakeholders across domains
You coordinate with key functions such as Legal, HR, Procurement and Finance. You ensure alignment across divisions and subsidiaries, centralize best practices and encourage collaboration.
- Monitor developments and support decision-making
You track key sustainability trends and translate them into practical direction. You act as an advisor to the business and represent the Group Sustainability Manager when required.
- Travel requirement
You will be expected to travel several times per year, mainly within the EU. These are well-planned and scheduled business trips.
What you bring
- MSc in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences or a related field
- >5 years of demonstrable experience in a sustainability-related role within an international business or as a consultant
- Proven track record in project and change management
- Strong knowledge of ESG (strategies, policies & frameworks) and regulatory reporting (CSRD/ESRS)
- Analytical mindset and data management skills
- Excellent communication skills and a people-first approach
- Fluency in English - Dutch is a plus!
